The data formats in use in Planetary Sciences, Space Sciences and Solar Physics are diverse and numerous, but a limited number of them are widely used. We present below the data formats used by the VESPA teams.
|Format||VESPA Communities||Data Product Types||VO Support||Conversions|
Std image formats
• gdal (from geofits: with Chiara's extension)
|VOTable||• TOPCAT (tables to various text formats)|
|GeoTIFF||• QGIS, with VESPA plugins||• gdal, in particular to geofits (with Chiara's extension)|
|PDS3||• APERICubes (some cubes, to minimal/temporary fits)|
In the EPNcore metadata services, the data format must be referred to according to its MIME Type.
